Keep a record of the decision
A simulated portfolio is most useful when each position has a reason you can revisit. Inspect the asset report, record the hypothetical purchase and use your notes to distinguish the original thesis from later explanations. Review position values and transaction history alongside changes in the underlying evidence.
Simulation is different from execution
The application records simulated purchases and sales using available market quotes. It does not send orders to a broker. Quotes can be delayed, and a recorded price is not a guarantee of a live fill. Actual execution costs, liquidity and taxes can make real results different from the simulation.
Read the history honestly
A short positive period does not validate a strategy. Compare the portfolio's evolution with the risks taken and the dates on which observations were recorded. Switching between English and Spanish keeps the same account, quantities and transactions; it changes the presentation of your research.

- Can the app place real orders?
- No. Purchases and sales in the portfolio are simulated. There is no broker order execution.
- Does changing language create another portfolio?
- No. Both languages use the same account data, balances and transaction history.

Methodology, sources and authorship
Astro Trader is developed by Víctor Balcells. The stock model weights valuation (40%), quality and trend (30%), and timing (30%). Risk filters and data coverage accompany the result. Crypto and ETFs have their own models; exploratory cycles do not enter the fundamental stock score.
Market data comes from external providers, including Yahoo Finance; insider evidence links to SEC filings. Consult each report's dates, original sources and coverage: a missing observation is not a confirmed zero. AI text is generated commentary, not a statement written or verified by the author.
